Digital
Music System:
For the clearest sound, great flexibility, and lightest weight
you can't go wrong with digital sound based on Software
Audio Console (SAC) software from RML Labs.
This system has 24 input channels with XLR preamps. All mixing
is done with keyboard and mouse. Each channel
has a 5 band parametric EQ with hi & lo pass, compressor,
noise gate, and 6 aux sends. All EQ, Effects, and assignments
are done within the digital mixer, with no siderack equipment.
Each monitor mix has its own mixer screen so monitors are
controled independently of house sound. Usually the system
is set at stage side so performers or a monitor sound guy
can adjust monitor mixes. This system
has up to 12 stereo outputs that drive mains, subs, 6 monitor
mixes, and house sends as needed. The stage
side picture shows system on top of eight channels of
power amp for left, right, left sub, right sub, M1, M2, M3,
& M4. Any combination of amps & speakers are available
from two tops, two monitors up to 6 tops, two subs, and 6
monitors. Mics, cord and stand are provided based on size
of performance
It gets better. Front of House (FOH) sound is controlled
from a notebook computer
wirelessly connected to SAC. So FOH can be any place with
no audio snakes or even power plugs. The notebook (with a
10h battery life) can go any place within 1000 feet of stage.
And it gets better yet. This system is also a true
multitrack hard drive recorder.
If you feel good about your upcoming gig, here is the best
way to capture all inputs for later mix down making the perfect
live album.
